PRODUCER / COMPOSER / MIX AND MASTERING

MUCKY.

NEW YORK BORN. ROTTERDAM RAISED. BASED IN LOS ANGELES.

I started producing at fifteen, after growing up between the pressure of New York and the raw electronic pulse of Rotterdam. Hardcore, hip-hop, jungle, dancehall and pirate-radio grime all arrived in the same world. I had played saxophone since childhood, but a computer gave me a place where rhythm, sound design and instinct could become one thing.

At eighteen I co-founded NoizBoiz, one of the groups that helped establish Dutch grime on its own terms. That period taught me that a sound can carry a whole identity: not just a genre, but a city, a group of people and a way of moving through the world.

Since then I have worked as a producer, composer and mix engineer across records by Sevdaliza, Wiley, Black Eyed Peas and many others. The work has moved from intimate independent releases to platinum records, global stages and music for film, television and brands. The scale changes. The aim stays the same: make something with enough character that you recognise it before anyone tells you what it is.

Bass has always been central to that process. It holds the body of a record, but it can also be melodic, unstable, emotional and strange. Bass One grew out of the sounds and decisions I kept reaching for in sessions: solid sub underneath, character above it, movement within reach, and enough control to shape the result without losing the original feeling.

I built it with the same standard I bring to a record: the low end has to translate, every control has to earn its place, and the instrument should reward instinct before it asks for technique. It is not a collection of theory or decoration. It is a working sound-making tool shaped by years in real sessions.

I now make music and instruments from Los Angeles. This site is an open door into both: play with the tracks on the homepage, then step into Bass One if you want to build low end of your own.
